Chocolate Crumble Cake

Time: 1 hour


2 Cups sugar
1+3\4 Cups flour
2\3 Cup cocoa
1 tsp Salt
1+1\2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp Baking soda
2 Eggs
1\2 Cup oil
1 Cup milk
1 Cup boiling water

1\4 Cup butter (melted)
1\2 Cup icing sugar
1\3 Cup flour
1\4 Cup cocoa

Buttercream Icing
3 Cups icing sugar
1\3 Cup butter
1+1\2 tsp Vanilla essence
2 tbls milk


For the crumble, mix together all the ingredients until it forms clumps. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 180°C. Sift the dry ingredients together. Add all the wet ingredients and mix by hand (with a spoon). When smooth and well combined, pour into a baking tin. Cover with the crumbles. Bake for 35-45min. Allow to cool for 15min.

For the buttercream icing, mix everything together until smooth and spreadable. Cover cake roughly with icing, sprinkle with cocoa. If you like you can drizzle homemade caramel sauce on the edges.
